I must be losing my mind. Isn't there a trash can icon in the photo app, visible when you tap, located in the bottom far right, next to the back/play/forward icons? Which is the same functionality in the film roll when using the camera?

If I haven't been hallucinating all these months, my trash can has suddenly disappeared. And just in case I've been imagining one there, why isn't one there? Come to think of it, you can't delete songs either. Sure would be a nice function in times when you need to install an app and have run out of memory.

My trash can is still there. When I click on the picture, and click near the bottom, the trash can is the last lil icon thingy.

The trash can is only there in the "Camera Roll" section. It is not there for the iPhoto albums that you have synced to your iPhone.
