Alex looks and works great and I prefer it to iTunes for access to local drive.
How can i get Plex to play Shows and Movies I purchased from Apple iTunes?
I assume Apple doesn't allow this....?

Unfortunately because films and tv purchased through iTunes have DRM, third party apps are unable to play them. Music is fine, but short of stripping the DRM from the videos, Plex won't be able to access them.

If you have a Mac I find Tuneskit the best

http://www.tuneskit.com

Just finished removing the DRM from my 289 iTunes movies

So now there all on Plex

I have used iTunes till now but Apples lack of attention to home sharing has forced me out of their ecosystem for the first time

And given the money spent on Apple content I am a bit pissed

Just a warning, neither of these tools are lossless, even though they claim to be.

Really wish something could be figured out, as I do like the new Plex AppleTV interface.

What is your specific objection/issue with the current Home Sharing setup that you feel necessitated going this route? I use it and feel comfortable with its functionality.

The built in home sharing only displays my movies and tv show as a list

With 800 + movies ( the others are blu Ray rips so all have been paid for) that is almost unworkable
