I downloaded the iOS12 beta today and have been enjoying playing around with it, but because public beta testers can't get hold of the shortcuts app, I can't test this.

For example, I would really like to set up an automation to turn on Do Not Disturb when I get to work, which would obviously activate automatically based on location. There's no way to do this in the workflow app as far as I can see.

So can the shortcuts be activated via other means, such as time of day or can you only activate them by physically tapping the automation or speaking to Siri to activate it?

Another example I can think of is, in the morning I have an automation that will turn on my lights when my alarm goes off, it would be really awesome to be able to have the same automation automatically start playing Podcasts on all 3 HomePods in my house. I do know that Siri Shortcuts can now activate Homekit accessories.

So far, no, re using geofencing as a way to run a Shortcut or on a timer. Not saying it won’t appear later, as it seems to be a natural, but I think they want to do it right. And safely: imagine someone punking someone else with a Shortcut that orders a 1000 lattes from Starbucks when they arrive at work. There’s a reason for that manual intervention required!
