A few months ago, a benchmark purported to be of the i5 MacBook Pro surfaced demonstrating a massive increase in speed. Now that the Core i5/i7 MacBook Pros are released, I'm wondering how accurate that benchmark was. I'm also wondering how much faster they are than the new 13" Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro.

So if you have a new device, please post the specs and the Geekbench/XBench benchmarks for the device. Thanks!

I just ran 32 bit geekbench and got this on my new stock 15" 2.66 i7. I compare this with the ~3900 I got on the same model C2D (2.8) just one week ago. These should be comparable as they were the high end stock option of both the old and new models, the current model even getting a $100 discount. I'm sure others have gotten much higher (who knows what I have running in my background), but I basically ported my user account and all apps from the time machine backup so it should be apples to apples (so to speak ;) )
