Is it a free app?

If so then you can just remove the credit card and download it yourself.

Or use a PayPal account.

No one can download the app and just email it to you, you would have to enter their iTunes account info on your computer and activate your computer for that specific account. Every time there is an update, you would need to sign into their account and download it.

As I'm sure you can understand, no one is going to put their iTunes Account information out in the world.

credit card expired? ... did you also lose the new one? ... most cards are renewable when they expire

wow thank you so much!! never saw that option.

it kept on asking me to update my credit card details even when i wanted to download a free app, i thought that apple still wanted me to have updated credit card details to download a free app..

Thanks again!!!! :):):):):)

Still need to have an activate credit card or paypal account to download anything including free items.

Wrong. I have nothing tied to my iTunes account. I used a $15 Gift Card to set it up back in 2008, and have since then been running on empty.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I think you can Enter "None" in the card number field and use it this way for free apps. Or gift codes ? Or gift cards only. Did that with my company iPad.... Gifted myself from my private account two apps. Was easier this way ;-)
