I have had several flash drives: Kingston DataTraveler, Transcend, Imation, etc. Nothing like that ever happened to me. If I were you I'd immediately return it back to where I bought it and ask for a new pen drive replacement. I'm sure there is a warranty for these drives even if it be just for a couple of weeks.

so, yes i can see it in disk utility.... i try to erase it.... but it gives me this [see attchmnt]:mad::mad::mad: i try to partition it, same thing! and btw, i tried to format it as macos extended and as ms-dos... nothing!

try formatting it in fat 32 aka MS-DOS format

OP - on the first picture at the bottom it says "unformatted' for the Partition Map Scheme. When you are in the Partition Options in disk utility, click the Options and select MBR, then format to FAT32.

it didnt work!!

Im Furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its working normally on pcs!!!!!!

Sorry that it is not working out. Occasionally a device seems to do just that (no personal experiences though). If it is just frustrating, throw it out and buy a new one. :D

I think he has bigger problems, judging from his post about a DVD above.

I ran into this problem before, but it was back in the Tiger days. It was after a update I think. I ended up doing a archive+install and that fixed the problem. Worth a try?

dumb question but some (mostly older) thumb drives have a read-write lock switch. Does the problem thumb drive have this and if so, is it set correctly.

given the inexpensive nature of thumbdrives, I'd not get furious over it, and just buy another one. They're like 20 bucks.

well, i tried everything... even i booted from Leopard DVD and used Disk Utility to reformatted, and it did show up when booted from the dvd... but when i was back to my OS, it gave me the same error.....

i;m gonna drop it off.. im just sick of it....:(
