Hi all,

I have a MBP 2.4

And a Sonyricsson C902 3g phone.

My ISP's are .Mac and AOL

I'm in England

On the odd occasion I'd like to get onto the net when I'm not around a wireless network.

Can I do this through my phone? If so how can I do this ( set up computer/phone )? Is it massively expensive?

Thanks for all help.
:)

you would have to go through your phone provider. It would use the internet connection on your phone. Chances are there would be a price increase to do that.
the option is normally called tethering.

.mac is not an ISP, and neither is AOL unless you are dialing up directly to AOL.
Your ISP is you Internet Service Provider, so it would be who you pay to have internet at your house.
and on your phone your ISP would be the mobile phone company.

.mac and AOL are just services you access over the internet.

Who is your cell phone provider? There is a price to use tethering. You can pay as you go which I would not recommend because the cost s based on a per kb basis. I pay $45/month for unlimited (5gb bandwith cap) with a $15/month connection fee with Verizon. Just to give you an example of what the costs could be.
