I'm not really good at this, so would welcome any advice.

I understand I can set up an automation to silence my phone/watch from my bedtime time, to my wake up time, but I just don't know what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

As far as I can tell, you can turn the watch's silent mode off/on through automation, but not the phone.

With the phone, you can set "do not disturb" on during your sleep time, so you won't receive notifications during that time.

Is either of the above something you'd be interested in doing?

Hello I,

Thank you for responding.

I actually managed to set an automation on my iPhone to silence the Watch between my bedtime and wake up time, and that did the trick.

I was actually already awake at 8am, but my watch vibrated at that time and there was no audio from either my watch or iPhone.

Wishing you well.

Good to hear you worked it out. So silencing the watch also silenced the phone? Very interesting. I can't really try this myself, as I don't hear the sounds from the phone speakers unless it's right next to my ear. I just keep the phone's mute switch on all the time, so I don't disturb other people with any noise the phone might make.

Yes, it definitely works.

I set up my sleep and wake times, then went into the Shortcuts app to set up the automation.

Give it a try; I’m sure it will work for you.

All the best.

Not going to try -- I need someone to tell me if the phone is making any noise. Or I need to hold the phone to my ear while testing. Too much trouble to test a function for which I have no need.
