macOS Can someone please help me write a script for this

Whenever I plug in my external monitor into my MacBook, the fonts get a messed up. I have noticed that, when running on the external display, the Font Smoothing setting should be setup to Medium, but when using the MacBook's display (without external monitor), the setting should be set up to Automatic.

My question is, can someone please help me write a script for this setting change to happen either automatically OR by opening an application made by the Script Editor or Automator.

UPDATE: I used an application called: MarcoPolo and it opens up system preferences automatically so I can change it. All is well.
