Can someone please tell me what apps Apple Puts on the screens in the Apple Store?

I can't get to an Apple Store to look for myself, but I figured someone here might know the apps [outside of the obvious page one], what apps they put there on their screens..

I do not know the answer but have wondered if it is a biased based list. A few weeks ago in the section 'what's hot' there was an app that had only seven reviews and was rated 2/5 stars. It stayed on the list for at least a week. It only gained a few more reviews and never increased its star rating. By what criteria was it HOT?

I hope to watch this thread with great interest?
