There's been a small blue line on the very left of the screen for a few months now, woke up today to find the screen like this though. No idea how this happened considering it hasn't been dropped or anything. Anyone know how to figure out if it's a graphics issue or physical issue with the screen? Anyone had a similar problem and know how much it would be to get fixed? I don't live near an Apple store and it isn't under warranty. Thanks.

That's bad news! :(

You likely need a new screen.

What model is it?

Yeah, I know. :(

It's a Mid 2012 model.

I was planning to upgrade to skylake when that's out, so not sure if it would be worth it for me to get fixed in the first place.

I hate it when things break prematurely! I think the screen replacement cost is about $600. It's probably worth it to get it done as the computer itself is still good.

You could also sell it as-is at a reduced cost. It's always a tough decision.

Good luck!
