Its from the photo app. I don't understand what its syncing. My iPad is not plugged in, and my photo stream is all synced up. I'm super curious! It shows up when I scroll to the bottom of the photo stream, albums or events. Also its been stuck on 6,818 out of 6,992 for as long as I can remember.

I was under the impression that you couldnt sync photos wirelessly? The thmbs just so happened to be like that during the screenshot but theyre normal now.
 
I sync my iPad via wifi with my Mac. Photos included. It was only plugged in via USB during the initial setup and iTunes config to turn on wifi sync.

Oh I have been confusing syncing with importing! It seems then that its a glitch and it thinks the ipad is still connected to itunes or something. Tried turning off wifi as suggested to no avail, but at least I understand what it is now.

I define what I want sync'd in iTunes, and it syncs over wifi. I import my photos into iPhoto from cameras or whatever. Then sync to the iPad . . . Unless the photo was taken by the iPad (I don't have an iPhone).
