Somebody at home touched on the Update button and now my ipad is asking me to connect to itunes to restore and update to 6.1.3. Of course, I am panicking because I will loose my jailbreak.
So I have the ipad with the image of a usb plug and the itunes icon. How can I stop this now? Nothing happens when I try to turn the ipad off.

Try a hard reset.

Nah, it goes back to the "Connect to itunes" screen.

Thy this, hold down the home button and the sleep button and as soon as you see the apple logo let go of the sleep button and keep holding the home button. See if the phone boots up.

----------

It may take a couple tries. Have to be quick.

That will put it in DFU mode. You might try something like this:

But most likely you are just screwed. The 4S and 5 doesn't have the bootrom exploit for getting around that stuff.

I can't. Tried many times but doesnt work.

If I am not mistaken, I believe tinyumbrella also has an option to kick device out of recovery mode.

yeah it does, hopefully it works for this as well.

Yes, you are right, but I tried Tinyumbrella and clicked Exit Recovery many times, but it doesnt take it out of Recovery mode.

The problem is the 4S and 5 don't have the limerain exploit, and none of those tools have been updated to support those devices. I just happened across that youtube video(which may or may not be fake anyway), showing that tool accidentally working.

i have used redsn0w to exit recovery on an iPhone 5. it was back in 6.0.1-6.0.2 days. i didn't think much of it because i assumed that it worked for all devices. so, it can work, but its probably just a lucky glitch.

I just tried redsn0w and applied Recovery fix but it didnt work.
Thank you.
