can´t open imovie. does anyone know why?

Hello!

I am new to this forum, and I hope someone out there will help me, and that I am posting at the right spot.

My problem is:I can´t open imovie. I thought I had to reinstall it, and since I left all my software at my home far away from here, I went out and bought ilife09, and reinstalled. But, eventhough I am happy that I now can place people on the map in iphoto (I bet you can smell the irony) I still can´t open imovie. What could be the problem?

The information thet I get is posted beneath.

I would be oh so happy if someone can help me fix this myself. I have a film that I should have edited by monday...

Your listings above have 'com.apple.iMovie8' in it even though you mentioned you installed iMovie 09.

Rather than looking at a core dump, you may want to review the log files via the Console app in the Applications/Utilities folder. Open that to display all the logs and then open iMovie to see any messages that might be getting logged.

Have you loaded any extras for video. Something like Perian, Flip4Mac, etc. You could try removing such items.

You could try removing the preferences file in you Library/Preferences folder. The file will be named something like; com.apple.iMovie8.plist.
