Hi,

I cant update to 4.3.3.

I get the following error: 'Update not eligible' or something along those lines. I have the feeling its because I used Tiny Umbrella to save the 4.3.3 Blobs.

Here is something I tried:

"In terminal:

Type sudo su

Press enter

Then enter your password and hit enter

Type vi /etc/hosts

Move your cursor with the down arrow to the line that has gs.apple.com without a # at the beginning of the line.

Move cursor to the beginning of that line.

Type i# then press the esc key.

Type :wq

Press enter

Type exit

Press enter

Now you can quit out of the terminal application. This likely is a problem caused by Tiny Umbrella denying itunes communicating with the apple servers."

Now I dont understand what is meant at the point where they say "Move your cursor with the down arrow to the line that has gs.apple.com without a # at the beginning of the line."

In my terminal I have an IP address before the gs.apple.com line and I can't seem to get the above to work.

Could anybody please help if they have had this issue?

Best regards,
Plaedies

If your using tinyumbrella, there is a setting you need to make sure you uncheck related to setting the host to cydia on exit.

What above said.
Start up TM go advance tab uncheck set Cydia as host,.apply change then quit. Then go to iTunes do the update again

when he says move your cursor it means use your down arrows on your keypad to navigate to that line.
I had the same problem, do that thing and it'll work.

Thanks for the reply chaps,

I ended up using my windows laptop instead of my mac to update.

I didn't want to make a new thread so I'll just post this here.

I'm on 4.3 should I upgrade to 4.3.3 before I jailbreak?

Question answered in the other thread you started on the same topic.
