Can the 11' mbp 17 w/ 2.2 i7-2720 use 1600 mhz memory?

After selling my late 09 unibody 17 ive been through a few alienwares in a few months and am contemplating coming back to a 17 mbp. i bought Kingston hyperx 1600 mhz memory for my alienware that can run xmp profiles or something.. since the 11 mbp comes with the same 2720 can it utilize this memory at 1600mhz too?

It'll work fine, but there seems to be some debate as to whether or not it'll actually run them at 1600.

It's not officially spec'd to, but there was just a thread on here with somebody saying the installed 1600 and it ran at full speed.

It depends on the model number of the memory based on information from another thread. However, I am unable to confirm this for you.

The MBP CPUs listed in order (i5 dual to i7 quad), the high-end 2.2GHz and 2.3GHz quad i7s should be able to use it. Please note the bold on should.
