Hello all,

Can the airport express share a hard drive? I'm interested in being able to access my external hard drives from a wireless network but I don't really want to pay the premium associated with the time capsule. I already have a WRT54GL with dd-wrt, so I'd use the wireless-n from the AEBS or TC but otherwise the fact that it's a router doesn't matter to me. Are there any other alternatives?

Thanks!

I do not think you can. However, on ebay they're selling the AEBS, the one that looks like a time capsule but it doesn't have the hard drive, for about $120. I bought mine from there for $110 shipped. It isn't the "N" model though, but for me I didn't care.

Although i have tried, and wound up having to repair the disk afterward.
Don't remember exactly what happened, it's been a while, but no permanent damage, just a quick repair in disk utility to get it working again.
so apparently there is some ability to talk to a disk.
