if you open the Activity app on your phone, scroll down to the bottom and it shows the steps

yeah it's been bothering me all afternoon that I can't get a quick glance at step counts on the watch somewhere. Having to go to the very bottom of the activity app on the iPhone seems kinda dumb

This number comes from the watch and not the phone?

Thanks

I'm not so sure about this. I also wish you could view this info on Watch, but I suppose calories burnt is actually more useful information than steps taken, right? My UP24 has me trained to care about steps.

Actually, it comes from both. HealthKit is pretty good at reconciling duplicates, but if you go into Health app on the iPhone, you will see it logging things from the Watch and the Phone.

You can see step counts on the watch. Open the Activity app and swipe up. It gives you a summary of Active Calories, Total Steps, and Total Distance.

Yup, that's even easier than the Activity app!

The steps there match the steps in the Activity app, but do not match the steps in the Health app. Since I didn't get the watch until 10:30 AM, I'm guessing that's what's causing the difference but will compare again tomorrow.
