I just got back from my parents' house over the weekend. They have a circa-2005 iMac G5. The house experienced a lot of electrical problems due to Hurricane Sandy. My dad claims the computer was "struck by lightening"
None of the USB ports are working at all and the computer itself had weird lines going through the display. What was once a 30 second boot up took 30 MINUTES just to get to the log in screen (and I couldn't do anything since the keyboard and mouse didn't work)
They ended up buying a Mac mini to replace it. I was able to rip the HD out and save their data which was still intact.
I would like to know if the computer is still repairable. Any ideas on what parts it would take?
