I am fairly sure this has been asked before, but can't seem to find locked down answer.

Can the iPad 1 USB Power Adapter (one that plugs into a wall socket) be used to charge both the iPad and the iPhone 4? I read all sorts of answers. Some say yes it works on iPad1/iPad2/iPhone 4 and then some say no it will damage the iPhone 4. So who is right?

I see that the one they sell at the Apple store shows all 3 devices can be used, but it is not exactly the same one as what came with the orignal unit.

The best answer I have seen says...

"Yes, the key to this charger is that it has a maximum "draw" of 10W (2A at 5VDC). Other devices still use the 5VDC supply, but draw at much lower amperages. This will not cause a problem for a device that has a lower draw."

But that is for the one they sell at the Apple store and am not sure if the original one that the unit came with is any different?
