Can the Iphone open a socket connection?


so I found the Class CFSocket

it looks like what i need. has anyone here ever done stuff with a socket connection before?

Of course it can. Look at the samples codes : WiTap comes to mind, but it's probably not the only one ... You can check the samples codes for Mac OS also (CFSocket is not an iPhone-only class).

I'm also pretty sure you can use BSD sockets as in Mac OS.
