Hi,

I have broken my screen on accident yesterday (moving) and in my hurry for a new screen I decided to take the leap and spend the almost 7k EUR on the Apple XDR Pro Display and stand. Is my Macbook Air with M1 chip fast enough to support this display?
I know it's a bit late to ask that now, but with all the stress of moving going on right now, I didn't even think about checking if it's possible.

Thanks in advance!

I’d buy a cheaper monitor as temporary solution rather than going for XDR display if I were you.

But based on apple’s product page, they don’t specifically mention XDR display support. I vaguely remember some YouTubers say their M1 Mac works with single XDR display, so M1 might be enough to drive that display.

I should have checked on Apple's website. It says it's compatible :) Pheeeew!

It is not only compatible, it is beautiful. As mentioned, for a non-business use, it is a luxury, but one that I really really like. Most definitely it will show HDR with an M1. In fact, in my gloomy man cave, I have to turn the brightness down to between 200 and 250 nits so as not to get an unneeded tan.

The only bug I have found, is that very occasionally upon boot, it will set itself to max brightness, requiring a shading of the eyes as I fumble to click on the brightness slider.

Love it on my M1 Mini and Air.
