Can the MBP sleep with the OS drive in the optical bay?

I have a new Mackbook Pro on the way, and have purchased the following kit:

Now, since the 1TB drive is 12.5mm tall I understand it will only fit in the factory SATA bay location. My intention was to put the 1TB there, and mount a Vertex2 in the optical bay, to be used for OS/apps.

I have read reports that this will work, however that moving the OS drive to the optical bay disables sleep mode.

Anyone have experience with this?
