Lost in Thought
Can these two effects be done in Motion? I own both Motion and After Effects, but have not used either (I am using PCP, and I needed Photoshop, so I thought I might as well buy the CS4 Production Premium).

A few things these effects contain that I am interested in:

1. The ability to track (“parent”?) masked freeze frames and gradient-type filters to multiple tracking points (“nulls”?) for panned shots. I’m really interested in everything that’s done in the Analyzing Motion video.

2. The ability to make a masked object burst into custom particles, such as “glass” but with various pictures on the particles. It would be interesting to be able to use tracking points with this, too, for instance if I am using footage that pans away from the bursting object and then back on the object while it slowly bursts. The bursting effect is in the Shattering Glass tutorial.

Thanks in advance,
