This company is working on a cloud computing service for the masses and it sounds promising:
http://liquidsky.tv/

It's still in beta and I haven't managed to get an invite yet. They currently rely on a remote desktop plugin (most likely Intel only) but once they finalize the HTML5 streamer I think we could possibly "run" modern apps and games on our aging Macs from TenFourFox.

Your thoughts?

But you would need a very good internet connection, wouldn't you?

Wow this looks cool... and it is free! Ima try to try it out!

Sounds promising, although the plugin will almost definitely still require a fair bit of juice to run smoothly, and I really don't see any PowerPC Mac being up to the task. If it's done in a similar way to Steam's new streaming service, which eats up a good 80% of my MacBook Air's Core 2 Duo processor, then I think it would just choke the living sh*te out these older machines.
