So my Apple genuine AC adaptor is slightly frayed on the end where the magsafe connector goes into the brick. It has to be held a certain way to work. Is this dangerous to the computer?

EDIT: I would only use it for the next 2 weeks until I get paid. My MBA only has 3 cycles on the battery and would like to keep the battery healthy.

Yes. Stop using it.

My memory is fuzzy and I can't find the thread right now, but I think there was a thread last year started by a guy who had damaged his MBA by using an AC adapter with a frayed cable. Or maybe it started a fire or something. I wish I could remember what happened but anyway, it was bad.

Do you have friends with adapters you can borrow? Can you find one cheap on Craigslist, etc.?
