I'd like to be able to touch the trackpad and have the mouse cursor go to that position relative on the screen. So if I touch the middle, then the cursor would go to the middle of the screen as if the trackpad was a touchscreen. ...is this possible?

Reason being, I often find it annoying moving the cursor to the far side of the screen or when dragging and then reach the end of the trackpad forcing me to lift my finger and reposition it, just to move the cursor over more. I adjusted the sensitivity up really high and it helps in a way but still not quite like using my finger as the cursor on an iPad.

I'm not sure there's a way to do that with the included settings in System Preferences. But then I have my macs set up with the older gestures. I hate "natural" scrolling on a laptop. It's not natural.

Well "Standard" isn't standard either so its just following the (mis)naming convention :D

No there is not a way. It sounds like you need to adjust your cursor speed.
