Ehhh.....

if you mean mountable like a flash drive for drag and drop..... no

If you mean being able to ftp and/or email files on / off.... yes, if its jailbroken and you have the right apps

For sftp:

jailbreak with ipwnr, this installs an SSH client, then just ssh to your iphone's wifi ip addy
L: root
P: alpine

For email/saving locally type of stuf:
jailbreak with ipwnr
instal ishare? i think....
mobile finder and some others maybe, i never tried too much

Honestly, its really more work than its worth, just get a usb flash drive, or you might risk ruining your phone...

The June edition of Macworld magazine tells you how to use the iPhone as a harddrive. Search for it on their website at macworld.com

i cant understand why apple disabled hard disk mode on iPhone... such a f*****g stupid thing to do... why?? why?? what harm would it do..

makes me angry, it really does.

This thread was created before the AppStore was released. By now most have heard of the AppStore applications such as AirSharing or DataCase or Files.

I hope that mysterious "Store" menu item is acting as a place holder for this function. I also hope Safari can download files to this area.

My guess is it is store settings. Such as what account to use to purchase etc..

I would have thought it would have been called "App Store" or "iTunes" then. These are the names of actual apps on the iPhone. As you see, the "Store" menu is in the same physical area as other real apps (like iPod, Photos, Safari, etc.).

I'm tending to believe that "Store" doesn't mean a place you shop in, but rather "let's "store" this screen/menu spot for something else that we will add in the future," or a sort-of placeholding for something else (which we don't know yet).
