As you know iPhone was an iPod Touch with additional features and iPhones ended iPod Touch era. Do you think visionOS can replace macOS and cause macOS to disappear in the future?

Highly unlikely that people will start doing work or be productive from it.
Apple is always clear that the Mac has its place - although they always say one thing and change their minds in the future!

A generation or 2 from now. You're battling a lifestime of habits.

So say year 2044?

It is possible that visionOS will cause macOS to disappear, but it is going to take a long time for that to happen.

I don’t see this replacing an existing platform, but rather supplementing macOS and iPadOS. When the weight comes down and battery life improves, Vision may become the preferred computing platform for some. I have a feeling that I will try to find ways of utilizing Vision more than the others because of the experience.

visionOS is just iPadOS with the white space rendered as frosted glass and a slightly different Home Screen, it's the same thing just rendered on top of whatever you are looking at.

I do believe in the next few years we'll see the same happen to macOS with all apps replaced by their iPadOS counterparts just sitting on a desktop with menus in the top left. The macOS branding won't go away but it's clear what the direction of travel is and it will make all apps the same across all platforms, they just scale depending on what device you're using.

We're rumoured to be getting touchscreen Macs in the next year or so, it will be then when this change happens.
