After ten years of owning laptops....I finally spilled water all over my keyboard 3 days ago. Fortunately I had one of those keyboard covers so nothing went into the keys! very lucky indeed. However, water (tea) did splash on the track pad. Could any of the tea leak through the track pad?

My laptop is functioning great and the trackpad is working...but my paranoia is making me think the track pad isn't as responsive as it use to be....although it works just fine...Am I just being paranoid here?

what sort of problems could occur if it seeps around the edges?

lol alright thanks, sounds like I was very fortunate to have no water damage :)

I am interested to see if there will be any long term damage the further away you get from the incident. Did you turn it off to let it dry out or have you continued to use it?
