Can WDTV connect to time capsule and play media

Hi, just having problems with my new Western Digital Media Player, I'm trying to get it to access my Time Capsule to play media files, is this possible? I've been googling and some people say you can and others say you can't.

I have the WDTV connected to the TC via ethernet cable but it doesn't seem to be even showing up in network shares.

Any help would be appreciated.
