You know all those pins we've tagged and stuck into the iphone's map? How do we get them off the device when it's time for our next phone?

You backup your old iPhone and restore to your new iPhone just like all the other data/settings
 
how do we get them onto the PC? or a garmin? or magellan? or tomtom?
I can ssh into the file structure. where are the points stored on the device?
