Can we expect 4G on the iPhone 5?

After much consideration I've decided not to buy the iPhone 4S and instead let my 3Gs hang on until the iPhone 5 is released.

Although this is all speculation, do you think the next gen iPhone will have 4G?

most like yes i hope..the AT&T version of iPhone 4S has some what of a 4G speeds (depends on area)..Verizon has LTE up running most places then AT&T/Sprint..carriers are pushing 4G/LTE more next year so i say 75% chance next iPhone 4GS/5 what ever its going to called to get full 4G

With every iteration, there has been a protocol technology improvement on 4 of the 5.

iPhone 3G added 3.6Mb/s HSDPA
iPhone 3GS added 7.2Mb/s HSDPA
iPhone 4 added 5.76Mb/s HSUPA (plus a CDMA version)
iPhone 4S added 14.4Mb/s HSDPA/HSPA+

Pretty good chance the next phone will add something. Probably LTE, chips should be ready by then.

The world doesn't revolve around USA btw. I know yous Americans have got 4G but we haven't here in UK (not sure about other countries).

Apple isn't going to release a phone just for one country. When everyone has 4G then Apple will release a 4G iPhone.

It's not just one country. LTE is spreading in Canada too. Sure, we're not big (about ten times smaller than the US), but we're also not the US.

LTE is availiable in Norway, Sweden and Germany aswell. Probably lots of other contries. I doubt Apple will wait for the UK to get ready.

If you want real world evidence, yes. Unless they have severe setbacks I expect the next iPhone to include LTE.
