Can We O2-UK users upgrade our contracts online?

I was on the apple store, still checking for white iPhone, but seeing as it is in limited amounts, then maybe the white ones wont make it to retail, and they'll be snapped up online.

So assuming I got to the online store in time before they're all sold, does that mean I have to pay the full price for the iPhone or can I get it for free through my contract?

I know US users can do this due to the fact its AT&T only, but its sim free in the UK, so I'm guessing we in the UK lusting for the white iPhones are SOL unless they make it to retail?

Any info appreciated.

Only through o2 upgrades.. not through Apple Store online in the UK.
