If we can tap on the touch sensor and our display moves down, why can't we tap on it twice (for example) and it would bring us to the home screen? Pressing on the home button is annoying...

uh...is this a serious question? Is this your first iPhone?

If you jailbreak there is a tweak called "Virtual Home" you can install which does exactly what you are asking.

Or alternatively you can use the floating assistive touch button and pretty much do away with the home button completely. I only use my home button to turn the screen on, that's it.

So we basically need to wait zillion years again for iOS 8 jailbreak? :(

Yeah, either that or come out with your own iOS 8 jailbreak.

In addition I'm stock and I use AssistiveTouch so I don't have to press the home (saving wear and tear) since I plan to keep my phone 4-5 years and the buttons tend to fail over time. You could try this out and see if you like it.
