Hello,

Just got my wife an Xs from the US. We live in Europe. The Xs came with a small cube with an American style plug.

She still has the plug for her iPhone 6 which is a different shape and has a European style plug.

Can she use the old one for her new Xs?

Is there any advantage of the new one?

Thanks

All Apple power supplies are multi voltage (100-240V). With a simple plug adapter for the prongs to fit into the outlets, you can use the EU adapters in USA and Japan or use the US adapters in Europe with no problem.

The small US cube adapters and the flat EU adapters’ outputs are all 5V 1A, which is sufficient to charge pretty much all iPhones. iPad adapters on the other hand are minimum 2A (10W or 12W) and they can also be used to charge the iPhones.

She can use her old adapter with the new phone. Other than the shape and style of the prongs, all adapters are electrically equal. No advantages or disadvantages so to speak.

Thanks, does that apply to these old style adapters from iPhone 6? Are they also 5V/1A?
