if I want to drink and watch the game on a projected screen, can I do that on the AVP? Are the cameras that good?

For sure.

In fact, probably not long before some enterprising dev knocks out a VR app to simulate being drunk or high. Could save you a fortune. :)

I can drink on my quest and index headsets so it really shouldn’t be a problem

This was confirmed early in the product development cycle, and the product team still fondly remembers the boot camp set up specifically for testing this functionality.

The guy tossed the popcorn into the air and caught it in his mouth. The big test for me is if I could juggle while wearing it. I've tried that with the Valve Index and utterly failed—and I'm good enough at juggling that I can do it with my eyes closed, so the passthrough was worse than blindness.

Sure thing, in the latest ad, person is even packing a luggage while having the Vision Pro on, then they pick up the FaceTime call and continue packing.

Can this be chipped easily if raising a glass beer bottle or can, too quickly to your lips, hitting the glass front edge

I've accidentally bonked my controllers into my VR headsets a few times. Would have sucked if the headset had a glass front.

but that is likely a "actor" using a hollow "prop", not a user wearing a device. You never give actors real things, they destroy them, instantly.

WSJ reviewer was able to drink her glass of wine with the AVP on. She did have to tilt her head a bit though.

I can drink out of a normal mug with the Quest 3 with only a little extra head-tilting, and the AVP both sits slightly higher on the face and has significantly more of a cutout around the nose and upper cheeks, so I think normal eating/drinking won't be a problem while wearing it.
