Just moved to Buffalo NY and the weather is 32f. It’s not snowing but man is it windy. So much so that so that my ears are freezing and my ears actually hurt.

I work outside measuring homes so I do have to keep it professional. A beanie Won’t cut it.

hoping this group can recommend some options.

I feel this is in the right direction but not quite there yet. I like that I can pocket this until after I’m done speaking the homeowner.

as for gloves I have these thick gloves that do an okay job at keeping my hands warm but are really bulky. Am wa btibg some great warm gloves that are thin and allow me to use my hands as if is was wearing nothing at all

Polypropylene is the warmest for ears and head protection. At least in 20* Maine, check out LLBean or REI vs Amazon perhaps. Or any of the ski shops.

For non- bulky gloves, thermax lined or electric (batteries).

If you’ve recently moved to Buffalo and lake effect snows, chances are your customers will also be bundled up against cold and will be more interested in not getting frostbite.

Thank you for the good advice.
I’m new to the north east and am surprised by all the locals walking outside in this super cold weather wearing t shirts.

Welcome to the club, 40+ years in mountains of Maine, still can’t get past some locals who wear shorts and t-shirts at -40* or -68* when gassing up their vehicles or shopping at Wallyworld.

I’d be the one wearing polypro beanie, Wardens Parka and 40 year old German wool pants and Sorels with felt liners. And plugging in my block heaters.

T-shirt weather ends at 30*, and only for quick trips to the wood pile in bedroom slippers.Or putting the dogs out for last whiz.
