Can you actually USE an iPhone in either AT&T or Apple stores? I currently have a S/E T637 and it often drops the voice of the person that I'm talking to. It makes me ask the other person have to repeat stuff often. And this is when I have "full bars" of signal strength. I wonder if it's that I'm in poor coverage areas or is it my phone.

What I'd like to do in-store is to pop my AT&T sim in the iPhone and make a call to compare A to B the quality of the two phones.

I know that in the AT&T store I went to, all the phones were activated and could make calls (at least to the toll-free AT&T number I had to call). Can't speak for the Apple store. I'd imagine they won't let you call just anyone on them, though.

The ones at the Apple store are all fully active. If you hit the 'show me my remaining minutes' code on them, they come up as "unlimited"...

Yes.

Some phones can be used at the Apple store I went to. Some didn't have their sim card activated.

I see alot of activated phones on display at AT&T stores and you can actually make calls and test them out. I dont think they'll let you take out the sim and pop in yours. Cause first of all your sim will not work with the Iphone unless you activate it thru Itunes and second they're not going to allow it :)

Atl?

Can anyone confirm is this is the case at the stores in Atlanta? Thanks much. :)

Here are the phone numbers of the Apple Stores in Atlanta. Call them and ask.

Perimeter - (678) 459-9800
Lenox Square - (404) 926-3085
Alpharetta - (770) 754-3992

While I was in London with my family, my sister's boyfriend called from an Apple Store in California with no problems.
