while on your respected networks. I want too see if anyone is getting that 14.4 mbps down....

Thats one of the things I'm going to test when I get mine later. Side by side speed test on AT&T. I'll probably find an excuse to run out to a couple of different parts of town tonight & tomorrow to test this out too. My girlfriend has a VZW iP4 and I'll test it against hers too.

Sprint 3G

Which is about the same speed as I get from my cheapo DSL Lite, so no complaints here :)

anybody who has posted their speeds actually live in areas that claim to have HPSA+ service?

I didnt think the 4S ran on hpsa+. This is what i am wondering. I live and work within HPSA+ coverage and wanted to know if it would match the speed of my Samsung Galaxy S2 running on AT&Ts HPSA+

According to the AT&T map, I have 4G service here.

I am literally a mile away from the tower, so I get full bars on my phone. I will do the speed test as soon as my phone gets here to compare. I'll also do a speed test on my 3GS now for comparison.

Hello, fellow Louisianian. :)

I find the Hunt Brothers test isn't as fast as Tennessee or Alabama. Can you try again with another test site and tell me what ya get?

Mississippian, actually.

And it's all painful anyway it goes. And I'm supposed to be in a 4g area. Pfft

I have better speeds than most of those on my old/current iPhone 4 which can break 5mbps.

Come on, need someone from metro Atlanta to post.

wouldn't today be a bad day to test with everyone on their ip4S. playing around? those towers only have so much bandwidth into the ground.

I guess I'm pretty good this is on my iphone 4, still waiting on the 4s.

Also the only (and I do mean only) reason I stick with ATT

Well, i think it will probably have a smaller impact than you'd think. A very small percentage of users will have their phones today, and if they do, many will be picking them up later and not really getting to play around with them until the weekend. Traffic will be up somewhat, but probably not as much as, say, christmas day when people are calling relatives.

Now, if you're wondering about the Siri servers, that will probably be true there. I imagine those servers will never be hit harder than they are today.

faster

Shouldn't it be much faster? I used to get 4-5MB downloads on my iphone 4 (Which I returned) and I figured this would be even faster

Only if the tower you're on has greater bandwidth and HSPA+. If the tower is straight HSPA then there will be no difference. Of course if the tower goes HSPA+ in 6 months, the iPhone 4 won't notice but the 4S will pick it up and take advantage of the greater speed.

TBH, right now isn't the best time to be testing speed... ATT towers are probably overloaded.

I'm really curious how well my 4S will do once it's here as I already get pretty good speeds on my 4. Ran five tests and got...

5.57/1.55
2.97/1.13
3.79/1.18
4.49/1.44
3.26/1.17
