Can you backup an iPhone to an external flash drive?

I bought this USB-C Samsung flash drive with the intention of using it to backup my iPhone 15PM. However, I was not able to find a way to perform a backup. I did a search and it seems the only 2 options are iCloud and a Mac. Does anyone know if there is indeed a way to do it directly onto an external storage device?

CC Cloner has an app that does this. I think the backup goes from your phone to your Mac to your SSD that’s attached to your Mac.
