Not sure if anyone here has done this in the past.

Assuming a large Apple Store (in my case, SF flagship store) has a walk-in stock of a new iPhone 17/Air model, do you think they'll let you purchase it while you are at the store for a pre-order pickup tomorrow?

I've pre-ordered a 17 Pro, but I'm still debating if I want to give the Air a try as well. My pickup window is 8 AM so there should be a decent chance some allocated walk-in stock should be available.

Thoughts or your past experiences?

I hope that's the case. I guess the only problem with this route is that, I believe, retail store purchase (in this case, the Air on walk-in), the trade-in must be done on the spot, not through the trade-in kit in the mail. So I won't be able to get two phones, pick one to keep, and use my current phone for trade in towards the model I chose unless I end up picking the Air, since my current 15PM is already traded-in in person.

Maybe I just have to place a separate order online for the Air and try it while the 17 Pro is still within the return window.
