Can you buy the iPhone at Apple Stores at the middle of contract prices?

I have a 4S and wasn't going to get the iPhone 5 mainly because I am not eligible for the special price. After justifying to myself I can get $300 for my 4S via Gazelle.com I decided I want one

My question is can you buy the phone at the Apple store for the middle of contract prices (i.e. $450/$550/$650)?

Use the eligibility checker on Apples website.
It should show all options allowed by your carrier.
If its not there then you've got your answer.
