This might be a stupid question, but it just occured to me that it shouldn't be incredibly difficult for Apple to do. I've had my white Macbook since last august, and with classes ending I finally have a lull in my schedule to take it to an apple store. My palm rests are stained and I'm getting the plastic switched out while the macbook is still under warranty. Do you guys think there's any possibility Apple would be willing to change the entire shell (from white to black) for a nominal fee ($50 or so)?

Likely cheaper to sell the machine and buy a black one.

If Apple changed the parts (which they won't) they likely would force you to pay retail for parts and labor -- which would be a rather large chunk of change.

Or send it off to the company that paints them.
