Can you clean a mighty mouse

The track ball on my colleague's mouse has stopped working it will only scroll upwards, can the mouse be taken part and cleaned like the good old mice.

Don't want to try an open it as they certainly don't look like they can be taken apart, any suggestions.

Turn it upside down and rub it on a piece of paper until it works.
