Can you clean the screen with a laptop and screen cleaner?

I bought a cleaner from Staples. It's for screens and electronic devices. You just spray some it on a cloth and clean the screen with it. Safe right? On the macbook booklet it says to put some water on a cloth and clean. (But I also read tap water is bad) Either way my screen is fine just checking.

There's nothing wrong with using tap water.
