Can you connect a single dvi-i into a dual link dvi-i?

I'm thinking about buying the mac pro 2.26GHz model and it comes with the nvidia gt120 card.

Anyways, I noticed that it has 1 mini displayport and 1 dual link dvi port.

My question is, can I connect a regular dvi-i into the dual link dvi port?

Yes, the problem is connecting a dual link display to a single link. Not the other way around.
