Hi, not sure whether or not this belongs here or in the iMac section. Regardless, I have a new MacBook Air and I am trying to use my 2009 27" iMac as an external display.
I have an external Thunderbolt backup drive which I intend to use to backup my MBA. My idea was to daisy chain them. I have the thunderbolt cable plugged into my MBA to the backup drive, and I have a MiniDisplay connector plugged into the second thunderbolt port of the backup drive into my iMac. When I press Command-F2, my iMac's screen goes dark, and my MBA's screen goes blue.
However, when I plug the Mac directly into each other, it works fine.
