Can you do early upgrade at bestbuy?

Can you do an early upgrade in bestbuy to 3gs or do you need an AT&T store?

I think so, but I would recommend an AT&T store so there's one less layer of middle men to go through. An AT&T store is also much more likely to know your correct upgrade status and would have more power if you try to weasel your way down in price.

I'm six months outta contract, so I just placed my order online through AT&T. I just got my first teaser "it's coming!" e-mail a few minutes ago, basically pimping accessories and AppleCare.
