It’s not available yet but macOS places no restrictions on what you can do over WiFi vs. what you can do over Ethernet.

In other words, yes, it'll be available over WiFi. Your router doesn't tell the outside world how you're connected to it.
 
sorry, I was thinking of; when you update the OS, you need to have device plugged in to charger if you were below 50% power. THAT's what I really meant.
 
The usual recommendation is that you should be connected to power adapter when you download/install updates -- particularly full-system updates; and, of course, it makes no difference what charging level your battery is - just plug it in when updating your system.
